COVID Rules for Race Day

Please keep in mind the COVID 19 regulations regarding Race Day

Gatherings of not more than 250 people outdoors are permitted as per the Public Health announcement July 2021 and where physical distancing may be maintained. Rowers’ families must remain within their cohort during race and are not permitted on Dock Area.

Only Rowers, Coxswains & Coaches permitted on Dock area. Each Rower, Coxswain or Coach must bring their own measuring tape, screwdriver and 3/4 wrench to adjust equipment. The Placentia Rowing Club will not provide tools to rowing teams.

The Placentia Rowing Club and Staff will not be permitted to adjust equipment for individuals. Failing to arrive prepared with pertinent supplies may result in the ineligibility to participate in the booked spin/race.

Every footing must be loosened prior to exiting the shell.

Rowers and Coxswains are required to sanitize their hands prior to entering and immediately after exiting the shell.

Rowers, Coxswain and Coach are required to leave the dock immediately upon the conclusion of their designated race time to ensure Staff have adequate space to conduct the cleaning and sanitization procedures and to provide the subsequent crew with the appropriate amount of space to enter the dock area.

No group gatherings or other congratulatory customs (e.g., handshakes, high fives, fist pumps, chest bumps, hugs etc.) that will promote contact or bring participants within two meters.

Medal Distribution will be immediately after each race. 1st place and 2nd place rowers will be called upon to collect their own medal.

Medal Distribution for both Championship will be directly after each race. 1st, 2nd, 3rd& 4th place medals will be distributed. Each rower will be called upon to collect their own medal.

Boathouse washrooms will be not available for use. All Rowers must use public washrooms only. These will be cleaned continuously and monitored by security to control numbers.
